Tulasidas describes the affection of a teacher for his disciples and the respect of the disciples for their teacher.
Goswami Tulasidas was born at the close of the 15th century and lived up to the beginning of the 17th century.
Tulasidas knew that scholars would object that his epic was in Hindi, the language of the common man. But he believed that good poetry, like the sacred river Ganga, should be accessible to one and all and should reach everyone.

After Tulasidas completed the translation of Valmiki's Ramayan, there was great opposition from the caste brahmins who feared losing their monopoly which they enjoyed with Ramayan only available in Sanskrit.
So in the city of Benares (Varanasi), the headquartes of caste brahmins, Tulasidas' Ramayan was put at the bottom of all the Vedic literature in the temple of Lord Siva (most probably the Kashi-Vishvanath temple since that's the most most popular and original) and left overnight.
It was Tulasidas who explicitly addressed Him as Bhagavan, so his work is of great importance.
