Governor and Mrs Hollamby departed St Helena on the RMS on Wednesday marking the end of Governor Hollamby’s tour in office as Governor and Commander in Chief of St Helena and its dependencies.
When the RMS returns to St Helena, she will have called at Walvis Bay in Namibia, with HE Governor Hollamby on board, looking at the opportunities coming from the new shipping schedule which is to be released in the next few days, including regular stops at this port.
St Helena was featured as a travel destination in the Lady Magazine in October of this year after freelance Journalist Beverley Byrne visited the Island from 6 to 9 June.

The island's governor, Michael Clancy, said the decision to build an airport would be "momentous" in the history of St Helena.
Currently, the last remaining "Royal Mail Ship", the RMS St Helena is the only public form of access to the island and comes to the end of her working life in 2010.
Stuart Moors, the editor of the a weekly paper on the island, the St Helena Herald, said the airport plan was "a monumental move for St Helena - it has been described as the biggest thing since Napoleon" [the French emperor died on the island in 1821].

LONDON, Sept 24 (AFP) - Britain appointed Wednesday a veteran civil servant in Wales to be the new governor of Saint Helena, the remote South Atlantic island where Napoleon Bonaparte spent the last years of his life.
Saint Helena is one of the last remnants of the British Empire, with a population of 6,000.
Educated at Cambridge University, Clancy was chief secretary for the Saint Helena government in 1997 to 2000, but otherwise spent most of his career with the Welsh Office and the Welsh Assembly Government.

Lowe was governor of St. Helena and the confusion probably arises because Lowe had sent a correspondence to the Chief of the Naval Division at Cape of Good Hope, Rear Admiral Sir Putney Malcolm.
Regarding the reference to "Hudson Lowe, Cape Governor" in 1812, it seems that the name Hudson Lowe does not appear on the complete list of governors and acting governors of the Cape from 1652 to 1910 that I have.
In 1812, during the anglo-american war the british decided on annexion, but this did not take effect until 1816 when Hudson Lowe, Cape governor, send a ship, for fear that the island was not used as base by Napoleon's partisans, aiming for the release of the ex-Emperor.
