TobaccoReviews.com: Blend Detail: Rattray - Old Gowrie
Old Gowrie may not be flashy, but it always works for me. Absolutely a desert-island tobacco, and an easy recommendation as a first-rate VA for the veteran or novice alike.
Old Gowrie may appear a bit one-dimensional to those who are used to stronger VA´s like HOTW or Marlin Flake but for my opinion this is a great entry in the range of the Virginias.
Old Gowrie is an easy smoke, not complex, and, as other reviewers have noted, it does have an “oatish” flavor, a flavor I found difficult to describe until I read these reviews.
