Graham Richardson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Graham Richardson (born September 27, 1949, in Sydney, Australia) is a former Labor politician who was a 'numbers man' for the right wing of the New South Wales branch of the Australian Labor Party.
Former Prime Minister Bob Hawke said he was helped twice by Richardson, first to become Prime Minister and then to become not Prime Minister.
Richardson was elected to the Australian Senate in the elections of March 1983, as a Senator for New South Wales and became Minister for the Environment in March 1987 as part of the Third Hawke ministry.

The Richmond culture: golden and black - realfooty.com.au
In his later years, when Graeme Richmond was fighting cancer, Jan said her husband felt sadness that the great Tom Hafey had been lost to the Tigers in 1976 and was forced to ply his trade elsewhere.
Richardson felt one of the weaknesses at Richmond during the 1980s was that GR was not close enough to the club's coal face, yet remained influential.
Richardson himself had been a victim of the Richmond culture, GR removing him as coach because he had sought to introduce possession football (what Hafey would call "'muckin' around with the ball") in 1977-78.

PM - Swiss Bank trio remaining silent
MARK COLVIN: The trio of prominent Australians at the centre of what's been described in the press as a "Swiss Bank Scandal" are, so far at least, maintaining their silence over allegations of secret share trading.
The people who answered PM's calls to the offices of stockbroker Rene Rivkin, former Federal Labor Minister Graham Richardson and the former Packer media executive Trevor Kennedy, politely informed us that the men were currently not available to be interviewed, but they would get in touch should that situation change.
Meantime, the allegations against the men, which we must emphasise again are only allegations, continued to be discussed on radio, TV and in the press today.

Graeme Lee was then called into defensive action as he cut out a dangerous Macclesfield cross by clearing the ball over the Pool goal.

When Richardson stated, “I mean the governments in South Australia and Tasmania simply declined to take part in national gun laws the last time the Police Ministers discussed it.
This was supported by the New South Wales parliament initiating moves to cede this power to the federal government before any announcement by the Prime Minister as to his intentions regarding moves in relation to firearms in the aftermath of the Port Arthur massacre.

There was a new assuredness and bearing to the dark-suited Carr who strode up to the victor’s podium at the Randwick Labor Club, suggesting to one observer, the Liberal power broker, Michael Kroger, that he was a man who now might be transplanted to Canberra to replace a politically ailing Simon Crean.
Kroger, in a perhaps indiscreet moment, told viewers watching Channel Nine’s election coverage on Saturday night that he’d been in the Sydney home that afternoon of his fellow election panellist Graeme Richardson – the well-connected Labor heavyweight – where they’d discussed Carr going to Canberra.
Whether Carr would budge from the premier’s office if serious pressure is applied is a tantalising question.
