  WoT:Main:Theories
We have: It is quite plausible that Sammael and Graendal were in the Caemlyn palace.
Scenario: Sammael and Graendal were in the palace to trap Rand with Lanfear.
The other alternative, Graendal, is slightly less likely, but, given the evidence and lack of other suspects, I feel that one of these two is probably the culprit.

 Welcome to TarValon.net
Roughly ten years after the Bore was drilled, Graendal changed her whole way of life, focusing on the materialistic and sexual pleasures.
However after fifteen more years Graendal joined the Shadow, possibly because she was one of the first to realise what lay ahead.
Graendal used her skill in manipulations to defeat her enemies rather than relying on what little military skill she might have had.

 Theory Post: Who killed Asmodean?
Of the Forsaken, only Graendal seems to be a good candidate, and this conclusion comes more from a process of elimination than anything else (doesn't fit the obviousness criteria in my mind).
Because Graendal was responsible for the bites, else they would have disappeared with the balefire.
Graendal had been present in Caemlyn before and was party to the four Forsaken plot against Rand.

Graendal was the one to go with Sammael when he pledged his obeisance to the Great Lord, so it is safe so say that she also had a hand in turning many to the Shadow.
Graendal's total fixation is with her own personal pleasure (*), and with the hobby of enslaving the most beautiful from among the most powerful.
Graendal also seems to be envious of those who have more possessions that herself, as she has trouble disguising the envy that she feels when she discovers how many objects Sammael has recovered from the Age of Legends.

The question of Graendal using the TP in the last chapter of WH is much more confusing, and I have no difinitive answer.
This means she must have had a way to disguise her ability to channel, the characteristic glow women exhibit when they embrace the source, and the flows she wove.
So Graendal must have a Ter'Angreal or some other way of hiding her weaving while she makes them for her to be using the OP.

Since Graendal is nevertheless the most popular choice in many theories, it’s also not really understandable why only one fan figured that how and why Graendal killed Asmo as RJ said.

The PoV from Graendal in [TpoD, New Alliances] is not that interesting from the point of Asmodean's death: Asmodean isn't mentioned at all, and neither are we given any news about that the DO allegedly promised her Nae'blis-hood.
The most important news is that my observation from LoC that Graendal didn't meet Shaidar Haran on her earlier visit to Shayol Ghul where the DO "all but promised to name her Nae'blis" proved to be correct.
Graendal hadn't met Shaidar Haran until he showed up on the tails of Moghedien and Cyndane.

Also, Graendal should be a few OPU stronger than Asmodean because she never seems concerned with Asmodean and might have been the one who killed him (she didn't know he was shielded).

Since all of Graendal's pets have a use to Graendal in some way, this old man must have some sort of prominence or skills to counterbalance his unsightly appearance.

 1.1.6 The Death of Asmodean
One theory along those lines is the one where Graendal killed Asmo, not because she went to Caemlyn specifically for that purpose, but because she happened to be there already, hiding in the Palace, and Asmo stumbled upon her unexpectedly.
So while it was certainly possible for Graendal to have been in Caemlyn the day of the murder, there is no evidence that says she was, and the logical reasoning that puts her there is thin at best.
An alternate version of the "Graendal lurking in Caemlyn theory" is the speculation that she wasn't there when Rahvin died, but showed up later - to ascertain he was dead, to pick over the leavings, or even to kill Asmo specifically, or any combination thereof.

 The Death of Asmodean
The primary suspects are thus Graendal, Mesaana, Padan Fain and Sammael.
Graendal has some evidence working for her: she has tried to assure Sammael that Asmodean is dead, and she has met the DO in the Pit of Doom, which in her memories of it does not mention Shaidar Haran.
Her memories of the Pit of Doom visit is even more interesting: as she doesn't make any mention to Shaidar Haran implies to me that she made that visit before Shaidar Haran came into being, ie before Asmodean's death.
