 Branford Marsalis
In early 1988 he received his second Grammy award nomination for "Best Jazz Instrumental Performance, Soloist" for "Cottontail," which was a track on Duke Ellington Orchestra's Digital Duke album.
In February of 1994, Branford won a Grammy award in the "Best Pop Instrumental Performance" category with Bruce Hornsby for "Barcelona Mona." In August of that year, he arranged a group called Buckshot LeFonque and released a self-titled album that was largely a collaborative effort.
One was in the "Best Jazz Instrumental Performance, Soloist" category for Crazy People Music, and the other was in the "Best Instrumental Performance, Group" category for the soundtrack written for Spike Lee's movie Mo' Better Blues by the Branford Marsalis Quartet.

Their second album for Epic, Western Standard Time, was released in 1988 and led to the band receiving another Grammy Award for "Best Country Instrumental Performance (Orchestra, Group or Soloist)" for Sugarfoot Rag.
In 1977, the band shared honors with The Sons Of The Pioneers and were voted "Best Touring Band" by the ACM and a year later it received a Grammy Award for "Best Country Instrumental Performance" for the track One O’Clock Jump from The Wheel album.
The "Wills" project also won another Grammy that year for its Art Director, Buddy Jackson, for "Best Recording Package." During 1995, it was announced that Asleep At The Wheel had been dropped from Capitol as part of the new management’s house cleaning.
