Many of the videos were part of the Russell Mulcahy-directed "travelogue" collection of videos, featuring exotic locations, that made the band's name as a video band.
In a move that still isn't common today, videos were made during this period (1981-1983) for songs that were never released as singles, capitalising on the strength of the track's overall feel.
In February of 1984, the video album Duran Duran won a Grammy Award for Best Long Form Music Video, while the video EP won the Best Short Form award.
