In 1985, she appeared as Aunty Entity in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome with Mel Gibson, and scored another hit with the movie's theme song, "We Don't Need Another Hero".
That same year, she infamously dueted with Mick Jagger in a performance of "State of Shock" at the Live Aid benefit concert at JFK Stadium.
In September 2005, it was announced that Turner would be one of the recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors, which host their awards at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC every December.
