		Organizers had moved the annual music awards gala from Sunday to Wednesday in 2006 to avoid going head-to-head with ABC's powerhouse line-up of "Desperate Housewives" and "Grey's Anatomy."
		But, The Hollywood Reporter noted, they did not expect to take the ratings hit that evolved when they went up against Fox's "Idol." Nearly 29 million viewers watched the singing competition while only 17 million tuned in to see music's elite, The Reporter said.
