Granola - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Granola is a breakfast food and snack food consisting of rolled oats, nuts, and mixed with honey, or other ingredients.
Besides being a breakfast food and snack food, granola is often eaten when hiking or camping because it is lightweight, high in energy, and easy to store; these properties are similar to trail mix.
This is not strictly accurate, as many manufacturers have begun adding marshmallows, chocolate chips, peanut butter, hydrogenated oils, and other ingredients not found in traditional granola.

 Galaxy Granola gathering acclaim
Most granolas are baked with oil, and Menard experimented endlessly to create one without oil that "doesn't break your jaw or is soft like an oatmeal cookie." As opposed to sprinkling in fruit after baking, her grains are baked with fruit to lock in the flavor.
The granola is made with organic oats, spelt and barley, sweetened with honey and sustainably harvested sugar cane, and the only fruit that is not certified organic are the apples and raspberries, which are organic, but not certified because the neighboring farms are not certified organic.
When Menard took the granola to a bike race and received a tremendous response, she and Lynn thought they would start selling it to cyclists.
