Each county, or group of counties forming a representative district shall be entitled to a separate representative when it has attained a population equal to 50 per cent of the ratio of representation, and in addition thereto, shall be entitled to 1 additional representative for each additional full ratio of representation.
The board of supervisors, or in counties having county auditors, such auditors, shall adjust all claims against their respective counties; appeals may be taken from such decisions of the boards of supervisors or auditors to the circuit court in such manner as shall be prescribed by law.
No township shall grant any public utility franchise which is not subject to revocation at the will of the township, unless such proposition shall have first received the affirmative vote of a majority of the electors of such township voting thereon at a regular or special election.

 Street & Road Numbering Ordinance - Cheboygan County, Michigan
The Board of Commissioners of the County of Cheboygan has determined that the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the County would be better served by a County Ordinance establishing a county-wide street and road numbering system.
The purpose of this ordinance is to establish, with the exception of the City of Cheboygan and the Village of Mackinaw City, a county-wide street and road numbering system in a uniform logical manner; to provide for a central point to issue and control numbering; and to provide rules and guidelines to facilitate enforcement thereof.
"County grid system" means the general East and West, and North and South division of Cheboygan County into four (4) grids to facilitate the assignment of identifying numbers, with the provision of allowing one thousand numbers per mile for each mile of distance from the base lines.

 Michigan Lighthouses
Michigan is the only state that supports lighthouse preservation with a program of annual grants from the state to local preservation groups.
The light station was leased to Alcona County in 1982; volunteers of the Alcona County Historical Society have restored the keeper's house as a maritime museum.
In 2003, a grant was obtained to repair spalling of the exterior brick work, and in 2005 the state granted $23,000 for restoration of the oil house.

CHEBOYGAN — Homes may begin to pop up near Inverness Elementary School over ensuing years if state officials grant district officials permission to use a large chunk of adjacent land for a high school construction trades class.
About 130 acres of state land in Cheboygan County's Inverness Township were acquired by Cheboygan Area Schools in 1944 under a public use deed to build a school, which sits on about five acres.
