A quick response from members of the Barbados Fire Service could not prevent fire from gutting one of the buildings on the Grantley Adams Memorial School compound yesterday afternoon.
Up to press time there was no word on the cause of the blaze, but CFO Mayers commented that the fire was possibly started accidentally.
Grantley Adams School principal, John Mascoll, stated that the building referred to as "The Barn" by members of the educational institution was used by the school's artisan to repair furniture and was also used to store miscellaneous materials.
