The Grass River is a short (about two and a half mile-long) river in Antrim County in the U.S. state of Michigan.
The Grass River flows from Lake Bellaire into Clam Lake, which in turn drains into Torch Lake via the short Clam River.
The Grass River Natural Area is a park of over 1,160 acres (4.7 km²) of wetlands and wildlife habitat purchased since 1969 by the non-profit group Grass River Natural Area, Inc. There are 3.5 miles (6 km) of boardwalk trails, bridges, and observation platforms that provide easy access to river, stream, lake and wetlands.

As the fire had already destroyed the store in which was one of the two telephones in the village and as the Crawford home with the other phone was also ablaze, residents of the village had to go six miles to a telephone to appeal for help to the Menominee fire department.

Red Cedar River: Michigan State University pledged $1.4 million, joining other funding sources, to study the river flowing from Livingston County to where it joins the Grand in Lansing.
Looking Glass River: A volunteer group received a $4,700 state grant in 2001 to begin monitoring water quality for the 40-mile river flowing from Livingston County to where it meets the Grand in Portland.
Although she lives several blocks from the river, Amy McCoy doesn't use fertilizer on her central Lansing lawn - an effort to reduce nitrogen and phosphorus in river water.

Clair River RAP priorities include contaminated sediment remediation on the Canadian side of the river, elimination of CSOs and SSOs on both sides of the river, elimination of spills to the river from "Chemical Valley" downstream of Sarnia, Ontario, and ensuring proper notification when spills do occur.
Benthic community health is good on the Michigan side of the river but, as of 1990, was "degraded" or "impaired" in a series of seven short segments along the Ontario shore for a total distance of about 6 km, or about half the distance identified from the 1985 survey.
All areas downstream of Michigan CSOs are identified as impaired areas due to the periodic discharge of inadequately treated sewage.

Vehicle access to Grass River Natural Area is Grass River Natural Area Road, turn north from Alden Highway (#618), ½ mile west of Comfort Rd. A boat dock has been provided at the west end of the Grass River.
Once past the south terminus of this ridge the river flows north parallel to Highway #66 to eventually empty into Lake Charlevoix at the town of East Jordan.

A scenic river type of Lake about six miles long, with excellent fishing, and accessible to smaller lakes to the north (smaller craft 18 feet or less recommended north), including Wilson, St. Clair, and Six Mile Lake.
In addition to great stopping points on its western shoreline Lake Michigan features many popular island stops including Beaver, North and South Manitou Islands just west of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore on the mainland (the Manitou Islands are a part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes) and Mackinac just past the Mackinac Bridge.
