BCN: Ecotourism in Forests/Grasslands of Royal Chitwan National Park
Although Royal Chitwan National Park is one of Nepal's major tourist destinations, the increasing demands on the park by tourists, as well those who live on the edge of the park, jeopardize the park's environmental integrity.
But due to manpower limitations, the National Park could not patrol or protect the new buffer zone area.
The park's valuable resources are out of bounds, sometimes the park wildlife eat or trample their crops, few locals find employment in the park and the surrounding communities receive none of the tourism revenues.

GRASSLANDS TO BADLANDS? RECENT LANDSCAPE CHANGES IN BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK
Endless miles of grassland greeted the early settlers in the area that was to become Big Bend National Park.
Crossing the long open stretch of the Tornillo Flats, it is hard to believe that this broad valley once held verdant grasslands that grew "knee-deep to a horse" and were harvested as hay for livestock.
A century later, the large expanses of native grasslands are gone.

As a result of actions undertaken by the World Heritage Committee, IUCN, WWF, the Frankfort Zoological Society, and the national authorities, the rhino population made a recovery from a meagre five individuals to around thirty-five animals, and the site was removed from the Danger List at the 16th session of the Committee.

Ecology: Ungulate vs. landscape control of soil C and N processes in grasslands of Yellowstone National Park
The goal of this study was to examine how large herbivores and landscape factors affect soil C and N dynamics in grasslands of Yellowstone National Park.
We compared landscape and grazer effects by measuring soil dynamics inside and outside 33-37 yr old exclosures at seven topographically diverse sites that were located along a temperature and moisture gradient in grassland of Yellowstone National Park.
Both climatic and topoedaphic gradients in grasslands are associated with patterns of plant production, leaf chemistry, and plant species distributions, all of which can strongly feed back on local C and N processes (Burke 1989, Schimel 1985b, Schlesinger et al.
