Although the Grayling is not the most popular fish in Alaska it is only because there has to be a favorite and with the many different species available in Alaska the Grayling just happens to be one of the least sought after.

I only fish for "trash fish" like grayling and trout with a rod and real in fresh water and any ultralight spinning gear or fly setup will catch most of them.
Still, if you think that a "grayling on the river bank" can even compare to Burbot or Copper River Reds caught and cooked fresh the same way, We need to have your taste buds checked (just joking again) and as far as the "so few years in this state" statement.
So you are saying the river does not freeze and the grayling are always there.
