Great Bear Lake (Sahtu) is the largest lake in the Northwest Territories of Canada and the fourth largest in North America.
The lake is situated on the Arctic Circle between 65 and 67 degrees of northern latitude and between 118 and 123 degrees western longitude, 186 m above sea level.
Great Bear Lake lies between two major physiographic regions: the Kazan Uplands portion of the Canadian Shield and the Interior Plains.

When I was there in 2002 and flew over Great Bear from Hotta Lake area I did not see a sole fishing on the lake and I thought wow not a sole on the lake that one off the fishing in the world.Anyways thank you for sharring really apprec.
It is great for the lake fishing, as it sets up and takes down easily and quickly, and the 15 hp makes it move real good.
Yes, the east end of Great Slave has been fished, though I believe fish stocks are in reasonably good health with good numbers of lake charr though of course not the size of the Great Bear charr.
