Grey ships dock in the harbors of the Havens, which the Elves call Mithlond, on the northern and southern banks of the Gulf of Lune.
Beyond the western marches of the Shire, three great Elf-towers of immemorial age rise from the hills to look out over the Sundering Seas.
To the north and south of the Havens rise the great peaks of the Ered Luin, the Blue Mountains, home of Dwarves.

Moreover, it is completely immoral that the mostly poor citizens who volunteered for the military are sent to kill and die in the Middle East while big business and the super rich enjoy the biggest tax breaks in recent memory.
Sure it would be great if everyone would educate themselves about all of the issues and make the most informed decisions possible, but not everyone will.

GreenBooks.TheOneRing.net™ Special Guest The Eternal Conflict in Middle-earth: from Literature to Film
Denethor's villainy not only causes tension with Gandalf and Pippin, but it also highlights the ability of great men to do ill. However by changing Denethor and Théoden, Jackson polarizes them to such an extent that we can no longer recognize similarities between them: Théoden remains weak-willed and Denethor is more evil than proud.
Indeed, Sauron, following the imprisonment of his master Melkor, is further corrupted when he realizes the great respect men and elves have of his knowledge.
These orcs have also fallen prey to Jackson's film needs: the orcs are presented as relentless killing machines to easily justify the fact that they are slaughtered en masse by the free peoples.

Rowan-trees grew about it, and in the midst was a wide flat stone....Frodo halted and looked out over the River, far below him, to Tol Brandir and the birds wheeling in the great gulf of air between him and the untrodden isle.
He saw as through a mist a wide flat circle, paved with mighty flags, and surrounded with a crumbling battlement; and in the middle, set upon four carven pillars, was a high seat, reached by a stair of many steps.
he pent waters spread out into a great long oval lake, pale Nen Hithoel, fenced by steep grey hills whose sides were clad with trees, but their heads were bare, cold-gleaming in the sunlight.

The Elves were destined from the start to leave for Aman and Eressea, so that Men could gain dominion in Middle-earth.
So he went to a purgatory and to a reward, for a while: a period of reflection and peace and gaining of a truer understanding of his position in littleness and in greatness, spent still in Time amid the natural beauty of ‘Arda Unmarred,’ the Earth unspoiled by evil.”
It is thus as part of this departure that Elrond, Galadriel, and other prominent Elves left upon the great ship with Frodo, Bilbo, and Gandalf.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Christianity
This universal charity He designed to be the mark of His true followers (John, xiii, 45), and in it, therefore, we must see the genuine Christian spirit, so distinct from everything that had hitherto been seen on earth that the precept which inspired it He called "new" (John, xiii, 34).
Still, a direct divine intervention was necessary to bring this about, just as, in any rational account of the theory of evolution, recourse must be had to supernatural power to bridge the gulf between being and non-being, life and non-life, reason and non-reason.
During his whole mortal life on earth, including the two or three years of His active ministry, Christ lived as a devout Jew, Himself observing, and insisting on His followers observing, the injunctions of the Law (Matt., xxiii, 3).

So great was her sorrow, as the Music unfolded, that her song turned to lamentation long before its end, and the sound of mourning was woven into the themes of the World before it began.

As for pictures of these trees, I believe that there is at least one picture presented in the encyclopedia of middle earth (I’m not sure of the author, his first name is David, but other than that I forget).
They were placed into bodies "real and not feigned", that means that while they were still maiar, they were restrained to use only the powers that can be found in Mortal Lands, this was because the Valar wanted to people of Middle Earth to defeat Sauron themselves, the Istari were only supposed to help.

In the east, in Ossiriand, the walls of Ered Luin were broken, and a great gap was made in them towards the south, and a gulf of the sea flowed in.

Ossiriand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ossiriand was the only part of Beleriand that survived the War of Wrath, but Belegaer the Great Sea broke through the mountain chain at the former riverbed of Ascar, creating the Gulf of Lhûn.
North of Ossiriand lay the land of Thargelion, and south of the river Adurant later lay the Land of the Dead that Live, where LÃÂșthien and Beren lived their second lives.
In the Second Age and Third Age the former lands of Ossiriand and Thargelion were known as Lindon, where Rodnor Gil-galad and Círdan ruled.
