  NAIA Great Plains Athletic Conference.
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) is an affiliated conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and consists of Thirteen private, faith-based universities and colleges in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.
In 1992, the Nebraska Intercollegiate Athletic Conference added Northwestern and became the Nebraska-Iowa Athletic Conference.
Dordt and Sioux Falls became members of the conference which was renamed again to the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) in 2000-2001.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference is an alliance of 13 private, faith-based liberal arts colleges and universities located in Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference hogged the final four last year with Hastings, Concordia, Dakota Wesleyan and Sioux Falls, and this year has two No. 1 seeds in Hastings and Morningside, No. 2-seeded Dakota Wesleyan and No. 3-seed Concordia.

The GPAC sponsors 19 intercollegiate sports - nine for women and ten for men - and awards an All-Sports Trophy based on the final league standings and conference meet results at the end of each school year.
The new conference name (GPAC) was selected from among dozens of entries from students in a contest conducted in the fall of 1999.
Five students submitted the winning conference name and two of them - Miles Ruch of Doane and Northwestern's Brian Pike - were selected at random to receive $250 scholarships from the GPAC in recognition of their winning entries.

Ryan was named the 2004 Great Plains Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and the 2004 NAIA Football.net National Coach of the Year after he guided the Mustangs to an 8-3 record and their first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Playoffs.
He was an honorable mention All-GPAC performer in 2003 when he completed 194 of 371 passes (52.3 percent) for 2,425 yards and 18 touchdowns to rank eighth nationally in the NAIA with an average of 242.5 yards per game.
Zevenbergen was last week’s GPAC Defensive Player of the Week after he had a whopping eight pass breakups, plus returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown in the Mustangs’ 35-9 win against Briar Cliff.
