It's my understanding that the Great Race of Yith are the only Mythos race to master time-travel; I've read several adventurers and stories where the Elder Things do utilize time-travel techniques.
And every time they did the Great Race was waiting for them to arrive, lightning guns at the ready.

I also believe when the author wrote the word race in the title he meant the human race and not a race with vehicles.
Got confused with by the title as I expected a race level with a vehicle when the Great Race is actually a cultural grouping here.
The true race is near the end when you must get by two T-Rex so that you can push a button that is in the same room as they are.
