The council has two primary camps: Camp Thunderbird 7 miles east of Cairo, MO in the northern part of the state and Hohn Scout Reservation on the Lake of the Ozarks.
All of the Missouri Councils are strong and financially stable.
With the exception of the two metro councils, all of the councils in Kansas and Missouri are in Area Six.

Area public safety personnel and their families are invited to attend 9-1-1 Day at a Kansas City T-Bones game on Friday, Aug. 25, as the T-Bones take on the Gary-Southshore Railcats.
At the recent national conference in San Antonio of the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC), Betty Knight, presiding commissioner of Platte County and a member of MARC’s Board of Directors, was elected to the position of First Vice President/President Elect.

On Saturday March 12 2005, the Saint Louis Brass Band competed at the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) Championships in St. Charles, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago).
In fact, the Saint Louis Brass Band was only very narrowly beaten by one other US band and in 2003, the band ranked in the top 100 bands worldwide.
The University of Missouri – St. Louis invited the Saint Louis Brass Band to be Brass Band-in-Residence in the Fall of 2001.

When he came back he worked for the Saint Louis Public Schools and saw what a disaster they often were despite many good people in the system.
He was working with a group of folks trying to get charter schools allowed in the City of Saint Louis (hat tip to Steve Stoll who did good work on this issue in the Lege itself).
She understands the problems in health care well and has other work done in the area that is impressive.
