The 2007 goal for Ohio Green Communities is to provide funding for four developments to produce approximately 200 apartments that meet the Green Communities Criteria.
Each of the four Ohio Green Communities developments will be eligible for up to $100,000 in grant funding (no more than $2,000 per affordable apartment to be built) from Enterprise and OCCH for planning and construction work to meet the Green Communities Criteria.
The green features will include (but are not limited to): Low VOC (volatile organic compound) paints, sealants, adhesives and composite wood; Green Label-certified carpets and rugs; Energy Star appliances; and locations with access to existing utilities, infrastructure and neighborhood amenities (such as retail, public transportation and social services).

The new 2004 wind map for Ohio suggests that Ohio's resource is better than previously thought, but it, too, relies on extrapolations, this time on measurements from weather balloons at five to ten thousand feet, coupled with state-of-the-art climate modeling.
