Topic: Green Arrow

  Don Markstein's Toonopedia: Green Arrow
Green Arrow was created, if that's not too strong a word, by Mort Weisinger, editor of DC's More Fun Comics, who introduced the crime-fighting archer in the 73rd issue of that title (November, 1941) — the same one that first featured Aquaman.
Green Arrow was never as strong a character as the one he was modeled after.
Green Arrow was the subject of his first mini-series in 1983 — and due note was made of the fact that this was the first time he'd ever appeared in a title of his own, after over four decades in comics.

Some readers consider the Green Arrow to be one of the more minor components of the DC universe, in spite of the fact that he was one of the earliest Silver Age characters.
"Green Arrow: Quiver" is a must-have for anybody remotely into the DC Universe (except wee tots; it's pretty dark), and the kind of story that could turn a non comic reader full tilt into a major fan.
In Quiver, Kevin Smith resurrects the Green Arrow in the 21st century; however, the Oliver Queen that returns is the card-carrying-member-of-the-ACLU Green Arrow of the 1970s.

Green Arrow #37 Review - Silver Bullet Comics
As the food supplies start to dwindle, we see Green Arrow presses the issue, by paying a visit to the Riddler and forcing the villain to give up the man who hired him the gather the magical artifacts that Oliver believes were responsible for unleashing the invasion.
I mean the Riddler squares off against Batman on a regular basis, and it's clear he's not used to this type of abuse from a costumed hero, which acts as a pretty powerful indictment of Green Arrow's questionable treatment of people that he considers evil.
Instead we spend the issue watching Green Arrow pumping arrow after arrow into a bunch of mindless demons whose dialogue consists of a single three word statement, and the big cliffhanger this issue offers up looks to promise more of the same.
