NEWSARAMA - GREEN LANTERN CORPS: RECHARGE #1
Green Lantern never really stuck in my mind, until the Rebirth mini, and then picked up the #1 GL series in May. Now I can say that this is one of the very few DC titles I look forward to getting.
I am intrigued by the whole Green Lantern concept, so I will probably buy this too, but I feel like the art is a big turn off.
I just bought Green Lantern #1, my first ever GL comic, which I really enjoyed.

Green Lantern - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jordan eventually returned as Green Lantern, and in the 2005 miniseries Green Lantern: Rebirth, he was cleared of the crimes committed as Parallax when it was revealed to be the result of a cosmic fear parasite that had possessed him.
This Green Lantern was Hal Jordan, a test pilot who was given the ring by a dying alien, Abin Sur, and who became a member of the Green Lantern Corps, an interstellar organization of police overseen by the Guardians of the Universe.
The second Green Lantern was Harold 'Hal' Jordan, who in 1959 was a second-generation test pilot (having followed in the footsteps of his father, Martin Jordan) who was given the power ring and battery (lantern) by a dying alien named Abin Sur.

Kilowog comes with a Green Lantern display stand, which is translucent green (in the shape of the ring symbol) and white.
Anyway, if you're into DCD, Green Lantern, or the old Justice League series (where Kilowog and G'Nort used to have prominent guest shots), then this figure is a MUST OWN.
It was tough to snag Kilowog, as he seems to be the first of the Rebirth figures to sell out after the initial shipments, but thanks to tireless efforts on my part and a "Sighting" alert I was able to grab the last one in any of the stores in my area.

 Geoff Johns The A.V. Club
Johns also recently reworked Green Lantern, resurrecting classic Silver Age hero Hal Jordan in the miniseries Green Lantern: Rebirth, then in a new ongoing series.
Johns has written for Marvel (most notably on a long Avengers run), but has done more for DC, on titles like Hawkman, The Flash, JSA (first co-writing with Batman Begins screenwriter David Goyer, then going solo), and Teen Titans, a title he revamped and re-launched in 2003.
While continuing to develop film and television projects, Johns has also served as a DC editorial consultant, helping plot the direction of the DC Universe, which is set to alter radically through Infinite Crisis, a sequel to the classic, drastic 1985 maxi-series Crisis On Infinite Earths.

Printer Friendly: Green Lantern: Rebirth #3 Review - Silver Bullet Comics
The book opens by establishing the idea that the Parallax aspect of Hal Jordan's personality was an ancient evil that had been sealed inside the Central Battery by the Guardians long before they formed the Green Lantern Corps.
This issue also offers up some pretty exciting big impact moments, from Kilowog's battle with Ganthet, to the ever so impressive final page development that is sure to have all Green Lantern fans counting the days until the next issue.
The art also manages to capture the surreal nature of the battle between the Spectre and Parallax entities for Hal Jordan's soul, with the final panel of this battle being particularly effective visual.

Parallax showed his true form, the Spectre--without a host--seems to be the reason why he was not as powerful as Ganthet, the Guardian, and Hal Jordan's return to life as a Green Lantern.
Ganthet's last action before Parallax tries to take control of him is for Hal to follow a different light.
Ganthet's line, "[Parallax] chose the wrong soul to posess" was awesome.

Ganthet declares that his memory is free from the Big P's influence, as well as the Margaritas the night before.(thus re asserting that P was influencing more than just Jordan's mind during ET.) He frees Guy, Kilowog, and the dude from the Cartoon.
Ganthet, before succumbing to the Yellow eeeevil, shoots Jordan's soul toward the Satelite.

I was at a bit of a loss as to why Green Lantern: Rebirth artist Ethan Van Sciver provides the opening prologue scene.
It's not that Van Sciver mishandles the scene; it's just that his style doesn't seem like a good fit.
A flashback to the Silver Age of comics wouldn't seem to call for a darker, more detailed approach than the scenes set in the present.

Emerald Twilight resulted in a complete re-set of the Green Lantern corner of the DC Universe.
Besides, without Emerald Twilight, there would be no Rebirth, which seems to be fixing a lot more than just Emerald Twilight.
Emerald Twilight is a haunting piece that will stay with me for a long time-- partly because I remember what Hal was and seeing him fall so completely is just painful.
