Except the Red Line’s separation into the Ashmont (Mattapan) and Braintree lines -- which doesn’t count because nobody rides the Red Line past South Station, anyway -- all other T lines maintain one rail/one line, thereby leading to confusion whenever a passenger ventures to the Green Line for the first time.
Where other lines have a depression adjacent to the passenger platform, the Green Line’s tracks are level with the waiting area.
That such an oddity as the Green Line should persist in marring an otherwise excellent and innovative mass transit system is a travesty.

Selling off mass transit systems might work out but people had better be prepared for disruption of services when it happens.
Not all mass transit systems are the same...I frequently take BART from Pleasanton into the city, or (especially) to the airport.

The history of the line is, Washington Street used to have an elevated line running on it.
One of the other idiotic parts of this line is the 'one seat service from Dudley Square to the Airport.' Dudley Square is one of the poorest areas of the city, not many people in the area are flying anywhere, they want one seat service downtown.
With the SIlver Line they will have to switch to the orange or green line to get all the way downtown, so much for one seat service for these residents.

When I last rode the Silver Line, one of the most “memorable” features of each ride was that the regular (40 foot-long) buses were absolutely jammed almost any hour of the day before about 10pm at night.
The other feature of the Silver Line that was going to revolutionize transit in Boston was the addition of dedicated bus lanes, which would speed the buses along Washington Street and prevent them from becoming delayed in traffic.
