An emphasis on a green tax shift which favoured reducing income and corporate taxes while increasing taxes on polluters and energy consumers created questions as to whether the Green Party was still on the left of the political spectrum, or was taking a more eco-capitalist approach.
Canadian privacy law now forbids exchange of political party membership data, however, this rule is moot, and can only be enforced in a mutual and selective fashion on those who agree to let a party release their membership status.
Although the party did not succeed in winning any seats in the 2004 election, its result (4.31% of ballots cast) was a significant breakthrough for the party, and the party now qualifies for federal funds as it surpassed two per cent.

It seems that only party members are able to participate in the Wiki, but the rest of us are still able to rank a plank and vote for their platform's priorities in the next election.
Once the election date is set, party administrators will form the input into some sort of rough fixed platform, but until then, it's "what real democracy looks like".

The Green party is firmly on the side of public health care, along with the NDP and in contrast to the Conservatives and (probably) the Liberals.
There is a note here that you can find more on their website, but since their platform is already 63 pages longÂ… In any case, I’m pretty sure we can trust the Green Party to reduce waste — whether we can trust them to do in a way we can afford is another question.
Despite their leaders word about deficits right at the beginning, the platform as a whole leaves me with doubts about how disciplined they’d be fiscally and about what the effects of the changes they’d make would be on the economy and on the budget.
