In contrast to Eskimo-Aleut languages in Canada, Kalaallisut is written with the Latin alphabet and not with the Inuktitut syllabary.

I have had an interest in the Greenlandic language for a long time and although I have the one and only book on the subject (in English), I will not be able to learn anything until I finally go to Greenland......one day.
Or if you are a Greenlander and are able to record some WAV files of basic words I would love to hear from you.
I want to store a dictionary and WAV files of Greenlandic at the same location so they are accessible to all users, but first I will have to obtain some WAV files.

However I was surprised to learn that in Greenland this is not the case and that many Greenlanders cannot themselves speak Greenlandic or that they forget the language after having completed their education in Denmark.
The language is certainly constructed differently to English and Danish for example with many nouns being replaced by a descriptive phrase.
The example mentioned in the podcast is that of the ptarmigan bird which in Greenlandic translates as 'the one you throw stones at'.
