The Greenville Grrrowl were an ECHL hockey team located in Greenville, South Carolina.
The Grrrowl's initial season was 1998-99, with former Chicago Blackhawks defensive star John Marks as their coach.
Despite the offer, the Greenville Grrrowl ceased operation on July 10, 2006 when the team failed to find new sources of financing.

The Greenville Grrrowl won their first-ever East Coast Hockey League Championship with a 5-2 win over Dayton on Friday completing a four-game sweep in the Kelly Cup Finals.
Greenville's offensive firepower was evident in the playoffs, as they finished with the top five scorers, including Steve Rymsha, who was second with 12 assists and 18 points, and Martin Masa, who tied for third with 11 assists and ranked fourth with 17 points.
Greenville Head Coach John Marks becomes the first coach in history to lead two different teams to the ECHL championship, having led Charlotte to the title in 1996.

The Greenville Grrrowl, Greenville’s hometown professional ice hockey favorite, has announced that Ryan Stewart has been acquired in a trade with the Florida Everblades.
Stewart (6-0, 195lbs.), a Niagara Falls, Ontario, native was with the Grrrowl for the first four seasons of the organization’s existence (1998-2002), and was a major contributor on the 2001-02 Kelly Cup Championship team in Greenville.
The opportunity to get back with the Grrrowl is something that has been on my mind for quite some time, and things have finally worked out to make the move a reality.

Greenville answered in the second tying the game 1-1 at 18:50 of the period off a Richard Pitirri shot, that evaded Checkers goaltender Alex Westlund.  The score remained tied through the second, and the Checkers once again outshot the Grrrowl 13-9.
