  Greg Rucka - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rucka was considered especially noteworthy for his attention to detail and the realness with which it is related; an ability assisted by the author's experiences with fight training and as an EMT.
The majority of Rucka's work today is for DC Comics, where he is the current writer of Wonder Woman, The OMAC Project, Adventures of Superman and Gotham Central, which he co-created with fellow scribe Ed Brubaker.
Rucka's work, particularly in comics, has attracted critical and fan acclaim, and also won several awards, including Eisner Awards for the "Half a Life" storyline in Gotham Central (which also won a Harvey Award), Whiteout: Melt and Queen and Country.

As was confirmed by DC yesterday, Rucka will, with a to-be-confirmed artist, tackle the Man of Steel monthly in Adventures of Superman, joining Jim Lee and Brian Azzarello on Superman, and Chuck Austen (and a yet to be named artist) on Action in a revitalization of the Superman titles.
Rucka said that when he was asked most recently about writing the character, his fairly quick affirmative answer surprised him slightly, but things quickly flowed from there, indicating to Rucka that he was right in his decision.
Something else Rucka is planning on exploring in Adventures is the different ways in which Clark and Lois approach their day jobs.

Knowing I like Greg Rucka's Atticus Kodiak books, I stuck with the first part of the book with an open mind.
After the story settled down with all the players in place I was hooked and found the last half of the book to be a fast-paced page turner with a powerful ending.

That place in the universe that Rucka mentions is often interpreted by fans as having to represent the "mightiest champion" position or "best hero" role, but this writer is loathe to ascribe such names to Superman, but not out of a lack of respect for the character.

Rucka, I’m sorry I’m merciless about your spotty work and your objects of admiration, because when you’re on, you’re really fucking on.
Rucka’s 19 issues are the best mainstream comic I’ve read in months and Millar’s 6 issues were some of the worst (I try to be selective about my mainstream reads).
The structure of the series changes, I presume, around the time Rucka knew he wasn’t continuing on it.

I loved that story arc, but since then, I've found Rucka's work, both on Batman and other comics (Whiteout, Batman/Huntress, etc.) to be either hit or miss.
