Gregor Samsa (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gregor Samsa, named after the fictional character Gregor Samsa, is an American shoegaze/post-rock band.
Unusually for a post-rock band, Gregor Samsa makes extensive use of a vocalist, in a similar vein to the much better-known post-rock band Sigur Rós.

 Gregor Samsa: 55:12: Pitchfork Review
Gregor Samsa's long-awaited full length was recorded upwards of 18 months ago but sat idle while the band toured, took time off, and generally decided what to do next.
It may not be a new formula, but Gregor Samsa manage to breathe some life into it.
In the interim, a split with Red Sparrowes was released and quickly sold out, but the band is just finally issuing its phenomenal debut, which features a mix of hushed beauty, dark, dense melodies, and soft, co-ed vocals.

 Indispensable Pests
They have inspired acres of prose, from eighteenth-century scholar René Antoine Ferchault de Réaumur’s seven-volume encyclopedia of insects to Franz Kafka’s immortal story Metamorphosis, in which the unfortunate Gregor Samsa awakes one morning from uneasy dreams to find himself transformed, in his bed, into a monstrous, buglike vermin.
Insects also have influenced musicians and artists: The Beatles named their band after an insect, and Catherine Chalmers, in her installation American Cockroach, turned tumbling roach antennae and wings into delicate collages.
Insects also have stirred the human imagination with the beauty of their bodily ornamentation, the charm of their songs, and their odd antics.
