  Gregoris Lambrakis - Phantis
Gregoris Lambrakis (Γρηγόρης Λαμπράκης) (April 3, 1912–May 27, 1963) was a Greek politician, physician, and member of the faculty of the School of Medicine at the University of Athens.
Lambrakis was born in the village of Kerasitsa in the district of Tegea (Arcadia prefecture, the Peloponnesus).
The assassination of Lambrakis initiated an enormous popular reaction, and soon after, Investigator Christos Sartzetakis (who later in the 1980s was elected as President of the Republic) and Attorney General P. Delaportas uncovered the government's connections to right-wing extremists; not surprisingly, both men soon lost their jobs.

Z is a 1969 thriller-a barely fictitious account of the 1963 assassination of Grigoris Lambrakis, a Greek charismatic zealot for peace; a populist, but a political figure who was a little to the right of the Communist Party.
The legacy of Z, similar to Vassilikos`s passionate novel, is preserving the saintliness of the political figure, Gregoris Lambrakis.
Furthermore, the wholesale slaughter of 34 student demonstrators, by the brute force of the army, at the Athens Polytechnic, on November 17th, 1973, tends to underscore the humanitarian message of Gregoris Lambrakis.
