		He was elected to the Winnipeg city council in 1989, defeating incumbent Guy Savoie in the Tache district (Selinger had previously accused Savoie of being involved a conflict-of-interest in overseeing changes to the city's development by-laws).
		During this election, Selinger was the candidate of a short-lived alliance of left-wing and progressive politicians called Winnipeg into the '90s.
		Kennedy conducted another cycle of operations before putting in to Naples on 27 August 1975 for a ten-day port visit, after which she returned to the eastern Med to prepare for Deep Express, a major NATO exercise that occurred in the Aegean Sea and on Turkish soil (22-27 September).

	George Slusser- Le Guin and the Future of Science-Fiction Criticism
		To be sure, Selinger's, with copyright date of 1988, is not exactly hot off the press (indeed, with the recent demise of UMI's Research Press, it may no longer be available).
		Selinger, writing in the Studies in Speculative Fiction series, presents Le Guin, initially at least, as an SF writer; and Cummins is arguing throughout that many of Le Guin's major novels, including Always Coming Home, are SF.
		As his title implies, he is using Le Guin as lead-in to a general discussion of "identity in contemporary fiction." Nor does the slippage stop here, for he goes on to equate the modern quest for identity with autism--and beyond that, with the artist's "refusal to enter the matrix of authorized speech" (4).

		John F. Kennedy anchored outside Perth at the port of Fremantle on the morning of 19 March 1982, and received warm hospitality for the duration of the stay that ultimately came to an end on 25 March.
		John F. Kennedy, together with Independence, continued to provide support for the MNF throughout the rest of 1983, as the result of which the planned port visit to Alexandria and a Suez Canal transit were cancelled.

		The evolution was designed to test the carrier’s close air support capability, but also provided the ship an opportunity to test the CV concept, as she operated continuously for 253 hours in an air, surface and sub-surface threat environment, recording 961 arrested landings.
		Without benefit of a coordination and workup period, units of the two carrier battle groups, British forces, and USAF assets rendezvoused in a hostile electronic warfare environment and successfully encountered a complex, sophisticated and numerically superior exercise adversary, proving the concept of long-range force defense for protracted periods.

		Leading up to the areas in which she currently concentrates, Selinger worked on query processing engines, specifically the query optimizer that became the cost-based query optimization now being used across the database industry.
		The course of her autonomic, federation, integration, and standards work has Selinger squarely involved with the major IBM initiative to bridge structured and unstructured data in such a manner that extends the power typically associated with a relational database, such as analytics, to unstructured data.

		The first elections for city government in Winnipeg were held shortly after the city was incorporated in 1873.
		On January 5, 1874, Francis Evans Cornish, former mayor of London, Ontario defeated Winnipeg Free Press editor and owner William F. Luxton by a margin of 383 votes to 179.
		There were only 382 eligible voters in the city at the time but property owners were allowed to vote in every civic poll in which they owned property.
