  Grey District - Gateway to the West Coast of New Zealand
A small district with a vast diversity, rich in history and an abundance of character.
The Grey River was named by Thomas Brunner on a visit to Mawhera in January 1848 to honour the then Governor of New Zealand, Sir George Grey.
It is the geographic and commercial heart of the West Coast, with the largest population.

Grey Bruce Health Services was designated as a District Stroke Centre (DSC) for Grey and Bruce Counties in the spring of 2002.
The District Stroke Centre is a component of the Ontario Stroke Strategy.
In 2000-2001, 496 individuals were hospitalized for stroke or transient ischemic attacks in the Grey and Bruce counties.

 Coordinated Stroke Strategy
Grey and Bruce counties are located in the northern section of Southwestern Ontario.
Three hospital corporations - Grey Bruce Health Services, Hanover and District Hospital and South Bruce Grey Health Centre with 11 hospital sites are located here.

 Greymouth residents say no to fluoride
Opponents accused the district health board of falsifying submissions to the council, while the district health board accused the anti-fluoride lobby of harassing hospital staff and intimidating councillors who had voted for fluoridation with late-night phone calls.
The advertising board upheld the complaints from the district health board that an advert featuring the skull and crossbones, and another from Grey District Councillor Ian Cummings that likened fluoride to acid, had played on people's fears and breached the advertising code of ethics.
Although the Grey District Council initially ignored the opposition and voted for fluoridation at the May meeting, the anti-fluoride lobby protested that it had been ambushed.

Grey and Westland district locals are being challenged to Make a Difference, as nominations open for the 2005 TrustPower Community Awards.
The TrustPower Grey District Community Awards are run in conjunction with the Grey District Council while the TrustPower Westland Community Awards are jointly run with the Westland District Council.
TrustPower Community Relations Coordinator Pip Tschudin says traditionally in the Grey district they receive around 20 to 25 nominations for the Awards, while in Westland just over a dozen groups are nominated for the Awards each year.

Orillia, ON: It was a great day for the London District as they claimed both the Men’s and Women’s Division titles at the 2004 Grey Power Classic.
The team representing the Niagara District was eliminated on the first play-off hole, leaving the team from London to battle against the Scarboro Women.
Teams were paired with twosomes from a different district and most golfers said that meeting golfers from different parts of the province was the best part of their day.
