	Grimmauld Place - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		There were many security measures in place at Number 12 -- for example, in order to disguise the house from muggles and other interlopers, it was enchanted to appear small and modest from outside, though its interior was actually large and opulent.
		The spells put in place by Sirius' family might have ensured that their home could only pass to family members or to pureblood wizards, in which case it would have belonged to Sirius' closest living relative (and his murderer): Bellatrix Lestrange.
		It is suspected that a locket found during the cleanup of the place in book 5 is one of Voldemort's Horcruxes, Slytherin's locket, which was found by a person with the initials R.A.B. When the trinket was uncovered, no one could open it.

		Her eldest son, Sirius, became the owner of the place after his mother's death, but since he was in Azkaban, no one but Kreacher the house-elf watched over things.
		This is actually a play on words on another level as well, since Sirius in the form of Snuffles was assumed to be a a spectral dog called a 'grim' in folklore.

		I think it's important to note that there are several places we have been introduced to in the wizarding world: Hogwarts, 12 Grimmauld Place, Diagon Alley, the Leaky Cauldron, Hogsmeade, Ottery St. Catchpole, Godric's Hollow, the Ministry of Magic and I might be leaving out a few.
		The point is that these places all play a part in the wizarding world and I think it is safe to assume that in an adventurous and climactic ending the members of the Order may find themselves in several of these places.
		We all know how much Sirius hated the place, the only reason why he went back in was for the sake of the order, he did not even go there while he was on the run.

		I was wondering how Freg and George are able to apparate from their room in grimmauld place to harry and rons room.
		Hogwarts itself has more security precautions in place than the average wizard home, so I assume within it, you can't even apparate from inside to somewhere else inside (other than when the security was lifted within the Great Hall for lessons).
		Grimmauld place isn't your average wizards home and i think its safe to say it would have many of the same portections on it as hogwarts.

		Harry was left 12 Grimmauld Place in Sirius' will, and with it, is now master of Kreacher.

		I think that perhaps the "going home" remark may have meant simply that he was overjoyed to be returning to the magical community...in whichever building or particular town or space that may be at the time.
		I don't think Harry's home could be grimmauld place now sirius is - gone - sob - even though it's the headquarter's of the Order, there probably wouldn't always be someone there and I don't think Dumbledore would let Harry stay there on his own.
		His home is not changing yet, otherwise the protection Dumbledore put into place, when Harry was left at the Dursley's would no longer be in place.
