Steven's last film attempt had pretensions of dealing with the puzzle of human redemption.
Film producing was essentially a 24 hour day of looking for a job.
One unusable, unreleased film in the can, an odd dozen of shorts, interstitial programming for channels that did not exist...I had already started flinging out the occasional resume, wondering why there were no call backs.

They understand monotony and the sort of grinding sameness that kills the soul, but they do not understand what it means to deal with consequences.
No, I did not cry at the end, as I am wont to do when watching films like this, but I was moved, and I was engaged by the deeply felt performances and the painstaking attention to historical detail presented by the picture.
I am proud to have the Alamo as part of my cultural legacy, and I was proud to see such a well-done film on the subject.

There is some controversy around the fact that there is a steadily increasing amount of films out that have a little line on their respective trailers and posters that say "Quentin Tarantino presents".
Many have dissed Miramax for doing that on Zhang Yimou's excellent Hero or the cheap My Name is Modesty film, because it gives some people the wrong impression of Tarantino having something to do with the actual film itself.
The film is called HOSTEL and is the brainchild of director Eli Roth, who has impressed QT with his previous efford Cabin Fever.
