Groll earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University where he participated in the design and construction of a hybrid SUV for the Ford Future Truck competition.
Groll is a NACE Certified Corrosion Technician, and has performed studies on microbiologically induced corrosion, galvanic corrosion resistance of coatings, and chloride and sulfate induced types of corrosion on different metals.
