 Groove
Groove, Human Traffic, and Better Living Through Circuitry were all techno-themed movies that came out surprisingly close to each other.
Groove also throws in other stories about two gay men trying to find the rave, a horny massage therapist, the rave owners trying to keep everything from self-destructing, and a young man who overdoses on drugs.
Although Groove is not as moving or revolutionary as it wishes it were, it is an interesting movie to watch, even more interesting as a companion piece to the other two movies.

Groove DVD movie DJ John Digweed video Greg Harrison film Groove soundtrack
For those that don’t know, a rave is a relatively recent development; an electronic music dance with the music provided by a DJ spinning vinyl and frequented by youngsters who dance the night away.
But these characters and their antics are so thinly developed and caricatured that they just seem to get in the way of the energy of the movie…energy which is developed by the music itself and the real-life DJ's that pump up the volume throughout the long night.
Groove is an excellent take on this scene.

 SPLICEDwire | "Groove" review (2000)
"Groove" in a movie theater with a movie theater with a kick-butt sound system made you feel like you were right in the middle of a rave.
While "Groove" isn't as appropriately uninhibited or nearly as much fun as last month's Welsh import "Human Traffic," it actually does a better job of portraying the essence of these effervescent, fly-by-night parties than any film before it, including "Better Living Through Circuitry," an overly-loquacious documentary on the subject that came out two weeks ago.
There will undoubtedly be more rave movies, but even though Harrison takes his rather insignificant characters too seriously to capture the pure joy ravers espouse, "Groove" stands a chance of becoming the definitive cinematic document of what it's like to be on the inside of this underground party movement with a kick-ass beat.
