  W. R. Bion on Group Dynamics by Paramendra Bhagat
Groups are formed with a loss of individual distinctiveness on the part of the individuals composing them and are defined as an “aggregation of individuals in the same state of regression (Bion 142).” Human groups have an element of instant recognition for each other no matter what the diversity in their cultural backgrounds.
The leader of the group plays an important role in sustaining it and is focal to its existence, but it is not true that the group is the invention of the leader, the opposite is. The group creates its leader who or, in the case of an idea being the leader, which sustains it.
The feelings that hold these groups are guilt and depression in the case of the dependent group, Messianic hope in the case of the pairing group, and anger and hate in the case of the fight-flight group.

 Chemical Properties Within Groups
The elements in the periodic table are divided into 18 (or 8) groups on the basis of their electron configurations.
The similarity in chemical properties within a group is reflected in the types of compounds formed by members of the group and is illustrated by their formulas.
In the elements of Groups I and 2, the valence shells are nearly empty.

Monoids and Groups. Group Theory and Symmetries - Numericana
The centralizer in a group G of a subset E consists of all the elements of G which commute with every element of E. It is a subgroup of G. The centralizer in G of G itself is the center of G (it's the intersection of all centralizers in G).
Each element of such a group which generates the whole group is called a primitive element (or a primitive root, with the vocabulary inherited from representing the cyclic group of order n as the "n-th roots of unity" in complex numbers).
The derived subgroup of the Quaternion group is {+1,-1}.

The group is not only involved in the discovery of new elements but has a long-standing history of investigating the nuclear and chemical properties of the heaviest synthetic elements.

Elements are not named until the existence has been proven with several experiments or by several different groups--one of the fundamental tenets of science is reproducibility!

 Group Theory & Rubik's Cube
Group theory is the study of the algebra of transformations and symmetry.
The kernel of a homomorphism G->H is the set of elements of G which are mapped to the identify of H. The kernel is always a normal subgroup of G, and its cosets form a quotient group G/(kernel) which is isomophic to H. See quotient group.
Given an element x of a group G, the orbit of x is the set of all elements of G which are generated by x, i.e.

satisfy the group axioms, where the binary operation is addition, the identity for addition is 0, and the inverse of "a" is "-a".
To see this group as a group of translations is easy, it is a group of discrete translations of the set of integers it self.
The table on the left is an abstraction for the multiplicative group of {1, -1, i, -i}, where i is the square root of (-1).

 Main Group Elemental Hydrides
The main group elements are then normalised to the corresponding main group elemental hydrides, a set that includes such well known species as: hydrogen, water, ammonia, methane, lithium hydride, xenon and hydrogen chloride.
The approach taken by the chemogenesis analysis is to saturation bond each of the first 36 main group elements with a common bonding partner, and then to explore the chemistry of the resulting binary compounds.
The main group elemental hydrides show patterns of reaction chemistry behaviour which correspond with the s-block and p-block construction of the periodic table, they show real and rich periodicity.

A group is defined as a collection of elements (a set), which are labelled a, b, c,...
There must be an element, called the unit element and usually denoted by e, defined so that ae = a, be = b, and so on for all elements in the group.
When this rotation group is applied to the "internal space" in quantum electrodynamics, the global operation (same amount of internal rotation everywhere) leads to the conservation of electric charge; while the local operation associates a gauge boson (the photon) with the electromagnetic interaction.

 2.2 Element and Group Types
More commonly, the elements may be arranged into a few classes; the elements within each class are structurally the same.
When defining the data for problems of the form (2.1)-(2.4), it is unnecessary to define each nonlinear element in detail.
Any two group functions which are structurally the same are said to be of the same type; the structural function is known as the group type and its argument is the group-type variable.

The Group worked on finalizing the element set and guidelines, agreed on a target implementation date of October 1, 2006 [likely to be adjusted to November 2006], and developed the additional implementation recommendations found at the end of this report.
The resulting mandatory element set that can be found in Appendix D is comprised primarily of only those elements that were scored "high" in terms of their value to the user.
The Working Group understands well the resonance that the word "access" has at the present time: many administrators are focusing on access issues; the word figures prominently in name of the future cataloging code, Resource Description and Access; and the word is useful in communicating a new philosophy to catalogers.

It's hard to believe that this is the debut CD created by award-winning performance-art sensations the Blue Man Group, whose off-the-wall and high-tech, highly percussive show has been an off-Broadway hit since the beginning of its uninterrupted run in 1991.
Creations used to make this record include air poles, the big drum, the PVC instrument, the backpack tubulum, and the drum wall (no, David van Tieghem is not a member of the group).
Those homemade instruments notwithstanding (which are most striking visually anyway), the heavily rhythmic nature of the music, combined with the guitar as a focal element, reminds one of early-to-mid-1980s art-rock.
