  Grouville
The parish of Grouville in the south east of Jersey stretches from La Rocque to Gorey and almost as far inland as Five Oaks.
It is dominated by a wide sandy coastline along the Royal Bay of Grouville, the prefix Royal being added in 1859 by command of Queen Victoria who was so impressed by its beauty when she visited the island.
The oldest section is the nave (the area of a church reserved for worshippers), whose walls were built from rough stones gathered from the nearby beach.

 Millennium Stones and Crosses - Les Pièrres et les Crouaix
The Jersey Field Squadron will be resiting Grouville's Millennium stone tomorrow morning to its correct position on the grassed area between Gorey Village coastal car park and the beach.
Société Jersiaise president Philip Le Brocq, who came up with the idea of erecting the stones in each parish to mark the Millennium, said that there was a misunderstanding over the position when the work was being carried out due to a communications breakdown.
Meanwhile, Grouville's own rolling stone finally came to rest, as the Jersey Field Squadron resited it to its correct position on the grassed area between Gorey Village coastal car park and the beach.

Maitre Anthoine Mallet, of the Parish of Grouville, has been admitted to the orders of Sub-Deacon and Deacon at Coutances, on the 27th February 1495-6, and to the priesthood on the 23rd September 1496.
On 13th March 1627-8, M. Jean Payn leased to M. Elie de la Place, Rector of Grouville, and -to those holding the benefice after him, a small herb garden, located in Grouville, on the fief of the King, and joined to a Church house, alongside the cemetery of the that Parish.
He married at the first wedding Marguerite, daughter of Jean Aubin of Grouville; from this marriage there were, amongst other children, a son Josue, born in 1647, who became Captain of the Parish of Grouville and died a year before his father, in November 1692.

Yet the parish of St. Clement would continue to suffer from its own unique local issues, such as its extremely high population density, the continued redevelopment for housing of agriculture fields next to existing built-up areas, and the serious anti-social behaviour epidemic that now blights residents of Le Squez and Le Marais.
Whereas a politician living in Grouville and known for his close links to the authorities in that parish would no doubt continue to give priority to Grouville’s problems.
My concern is that the addition of a large block of wealthy conservative voters in Grouville (from the Bailiff downwards), known for their higher levels of voter registration and participation at elections, would swing the balance to the right in this proposed new super constituency.
