	Funks Grove
		This 18 acre nature preserve is the largest prairie grove remnant in central Illinois.
		Imagination Grove, pictured here, is a portion of the forest that is devoted to children, allowing them to escape with their creativity to the prairie with the help of a log cabin, a wigwam, and a lean-to.
		This is one of the trees in Funks Grove that appeals to climbers.

		Nature remains unspoiled at Cypress Grove Nature Park, 4 minutes from downtown Jackson on Highway 70 West.
		Established in 1984 to preserve part of Jackson's natural river bottom habitat, Cypress Grove consists of 165 acres of cypress forest and features trails, a pond and a lake that is home to various mammals, frogs, fish, turtles and more than 175 species of birds.
		The park is also home of the Aerie Trail Raptor Center, a haven for birds of prey that have been injured and cannot survive on their own in the wild.

		This is a tragedy, as the kavus not only are a means for people to worship Nature as a manifestation of the Divine, but also a means to protect biological resources, to provide sanctuaries for flora and fauna (especially ayurvedic herbs), to provide oxygen to surrounding area and to provide deep groundwater reserves.
		In essence, a sacred grove is a temple—a natural temple where the deity worshipped is the temple itself.

	Morton Grove Park District - About Us

	Forest Hiking Trails
		The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias provides the hiker with endless opportunities to view and learn about these magnificent trees—among the more interesting specimens you will encounter along your hike are the Fallen Monarch, the Bachelor and Three Graces, the Giant Grizzly, and last but not least, the California Tunnel Tree.
		The trail that winds through the Mariposa Grove is marked by a series of interpretive plaques that describe the shallow root systems of these giants, and the tiny seeds that depend on fire to maintain reproduction and health.
		NBH Tip: Mariposa Grove is the largest and most popular grove within Yosemite National Park, so crowds can be large, but do not despair—as the trail moves away from the tram access the forest becomes surprisingly soothing.

	Oak Grove Nature Center
		The San Joaquin County Oak Grove Nature Center is located in the Oak Grove Regional Park, between Stockton and Lodi, 4520 West Eight Mile Road, Stockton, California.
		The nature center is preserved and exhibited by the San Joaquin County administration, which is undergoing major renovation works, as of this writing.
		The nature center primarily focuses on local wildlife, their native habitats, and the early residents of the grove, specifically the Miwok and Yokuts tribes.

		Ocean Grove Nature Reserve contains the only significant example of woodland on the Bellarine Peninsula as it was prior to European settlement.
		Ocean Grove Nature Reserve is a haven for birds and the reserve's bird hides provide a great location for viewing some of the 130 different species that have been spotted there.
		The Ocean Grove Nature Reserve is on the west side of Grubb Road between the Bellarine Highway and Ocean Grove, 25 kilometres south-east of Geelong.

	HCCVB - Founder's Grove
		As the most popular location in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park, Founders Grove has several easy trails amongst many large, healthy redwoods that grow in quite an open environment in which the trees are interspersed with wildflowers, ferns and grassy areas, and plenty of sunlight penetrates the upper canopy.
		The grove was established in 1931 and has an area of 55 acres.
		Founders Grove is dedicated to the founders of the Save-the-Redwoods League, John C. Merriam, Professor Henry Osborn, and Dr. Madison Grant.

	Mitchell Grove Nature Preserve
		Description: Mitchell's Grove Nature Preserve is a 184-acre wooded site donated to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in 1998 by William H. and Irene Mitchell.
		From a geologic standpoint, Mitchell's Grove was right in the middle of heavy glacial action, especially during the last (Wisconsin) of the Pleistocene's glaciation events.

		Newland Grove is an Essex Wildlife Trust nature reserve made up a small woodland and a larger area of grassland intermixed with patches of rough scrub.
		Isolating habitats is as bad as destroying them completely because these natural 'corridors' allow wildlife to move about and ensure there is sufficient diversity in the Countryside.
