  Grumman Goose
The Grumman Goose is an amphibious aircraft which, though it has a storied history, was never a common plane.
The Goose first flew in 1937 and was part of a series of Grumman seaplanes which culminated in the Grumman Albatross.
The Grumman Goose had some somewhat peculiar characteristics which, while easy to master, make it not a good choice for low-time, only occasional, flyers, unless of course, your are flying the Grumman Goose below.

Goose Stories (The Grumman Goose Around Kodiak Island)
The Goose and Widgeon were developed for military use in the late 1930s and World War II as amphibious planes that could search for downed Navy fliers, supply remote island outposts, and tend to navigational equipment in nearly inaccessible bays and inlets, then return and land on anybody’s runway or landing strip.
Grumman seaplanes and spare parts were scrounged from dozens of remote sites around the planet in the effort to keep the aging equipment working, a process that continues to this day.
I was in a Goose for the first time in two decades, and I was gratified that my memory had not deceived me, for the old bird was still as compelling a piece of metal as was ever devised by intelligent life.

Grumman JRF Goose Review by Brett Green (Czech Model 1/48)
Considering that the Grumman Goose was a widely-used military and civilian flying boat from the late 1930s, through the Second World War and well into the post-war period, it is perhaps surprising that we have not seen this type offered as a 1/48 scale injection-moulded kit before now.
Czech Models' Grumman Goose 63 injection moulded parts are presented on three sprues of glossy plastic; with another 12 injection moulded parts in clear styrene and 28 parts in cream-coloured resin.
Their new 1/48 scale Grumman Goose is a perfect example of this "next generation" limited-run model, with its high quality injection moulded parts featuring fine and consistent surface features, supplemented by excellent resin details.
