The Contractors Association of Will and Grundy Counties is an organization whose membership is comprised of businesses in or associated with the construction industry.
This includes such activities as liaison with administration of labor contracts promotion of the construction industry, maintain relations with allied industry groups as architects and users of construction, provide representation on employee benefit plans and apprentice programs, supply bid assistance to members, and provide an appropriate business and social meeting schedule.
The association became the Contractors Association of Will and Grundy Counties when it was merged with the Grundy County Contractors Association in 1974.

On the early evening of 20 April 2004, a small cluster of five supercell thunderstorms produced 14 tornadoes (as of 9 am 5/02/04) across portions of north central and northeast Illinois; 1 F3, 2 F2, 4 F1, 7F0 on the Fujita scale.

Helping parents improve their knowledge of child development and parenting skills was identified as a priority for Bremer, Butler, Franklin, and Grundy Counties at public input meetings in 2000 when the four counties received Empowerment Area designation.
The need identified was to help parents understand how to guide and nurture their children through the first five years of life.
From 2001 through June of 2004 a total of 792 families (unduplicated count) received parent education newsletters in their home geared to the age of their child: 336 families in Bremer County, 168 in Butler, 126 in Franklin (including 29 in Spanish), and 162 in Grundy County.

At a press conference last Friday at Troy Middle School in Plainfield, a group of school and municipal officials from Kendall, Will and Grundy counties announced a newly proposed impact fee specifically designed to fund new school buildings.
The fee, called the School Facilities Impact Fee, is the result of a consortium of school and municipal officials, and the Will-Grundy Counties Home Builders and Associates organization.
It will be implemented once affected municipalities and school districts adopt resolutions supporting the fee, and will be applied to all new annexations within those municipalities and school districts after they approve the resolution.
