		Unlike many other mountain villages of the area, Gryon is not way up a valley formed by one of the Rhone's affluents, but seems to hang precariously, threatening at any moment to crash down into the village below.
		The great thing about Gryon is that, while still very close to the rest of the world (30mn from the valley, an hour from Lausanne and an hour and a half from Geneva airport) it spends most of the year sleeping.

	Time for some relaxing
		Lisa and I headed to Gryon after the interlaken-skydiving adventure.
		Gryon is a tiny village in the Swiss Alps (close to Bex), with population 1000...i know...makes pulaski look huge.
		And, the average age of the town's inhabitants is 60+..so a quiet village it is. We spent 5 nights here to relax.....sort of like a vacation from our vacation.

		From Lausanne by train to Bex (4th stop), transfer onto the road in Bex for the red cog train, last one departs at 8.23pm.
		At the Gryon station, follow the train tracks & road, up hill from the station and look for the Backpacker signs on your left about 150 metres (5 minute walk)
		Bring your own beer and meat if you want to have a barbeque and make the camp fire yourself.
