The Smithsonian Institution’s Global Volcanism Network asked to use GOES Gallery images of volcano Guagua Pichincha in their Bulletin.
The GOES images of the Ecuadorian volcano which erupted on October 7, 1999 were made into a satellite product that compares differences in the emissivity of silicate particles within the ash plume at two infrared wavelengths.
