However, as bad as Pier 57 was, I feel that it is somewhat of a misnomer to compare it to constitutional bitch-slap that is Guantanamo Bay.

My 21-year old daughter disappeared from NYC last Tuesday afternoon when  walking with friends through a park where no protest was being held -- and was held prisoner -- without being charged -- by the NYPD for three days.
The notorious Pier 57 (owned by the Hudson River Trust--a city/state consortium) was dubbed "Little Guantanamo" by reporters who also got caught up in police sweeps and who said it looked like the Guantanamo Bay prison built by the USA to hold the Al Qaeda terrorist political prisoners in Cuba.

You seemed to have missed the point with your "Guantanamo on the Hudson Reconsidered" (Page Two, 9/8).
Commissioner Kelly either was grossly misinformed or lied outright when he claimed that nobody was kept in "Guantanamo on the Hudson" for more than eight hours.
You'll note that it was shut down only shortly before Bush left town, and you can bet there are dozens, if not hundreds, of lawyers who are now looking into this.

One guy laid down on the floor and refused to get up, delaying the bus ride even more, A couple of the cops tried to get him up, but he refused to budge.
Finally they dragged him to the middle of the bus, and left him there where he remained until we arrived at "Guantanamo." The bus finally started moving.
