  MPFFA HONOR GUARD
The Menlo Park Fire Department Honor Guard was established in 1996, and acts as the Ceremonial Honor Unit for the Fire District.
It is our goal, to honor with pride and dignity, those that have served the Fire Service, and to assist our members and their families during their time of need, due to a death or serious injury.
The Honor Guard is made up of 14 members from the Department, which hold the rank of Firefighter or Captain.

After the startup of the Honor Guard, Captain Griff Livingston (Ret.) talked about obtaining a Chevy Suburban to be used solely by the Honor Guard.
The Honor Guard was kept up to date on any progress made on the Suburban and input was obtained on lettering and placement of emergency lights, etc. These ideas were then incorporated into the Suburban.
In 1998 all the work was completed and the Honor Guard Suburban proudly escorted the Team in the Maryland State Firefighters Association Parade held in Ocean City, MD in June.

The Coast Guard Ceremonial Honor Guard was established at the request of President John F. Kennedy in 1962.
