Proably going to get some negative comments...the action that rifle is built on doesn't have the 3rd ("safety") lug the later 1898 action has...and becasue of that, was usually limited to lower pressure rounds.
Samco did send me a copyof an 1986 Guns and Ammo article where they talked about HP White labs testing the Guardia Civil rifles to destruction, and determined they were quite well made, and very robust.
