 | | Among the Democratic nominations, big cities have sent three mayors--1958, 1962,1978-- businessmen picked up another three--1966, 1970, and 1974—a former state auditor general won two, 1986 and 1990--state legislators accounted for two--1954 and 1998, and one each was picked up by a member of congress, 1982, and a lieutenant governor, 1994. |
