Guiguinto began as a barrio of Bulacan town, the former provincial capital of Bulacan.
Just before the outbreak of he revolution of 1896, the town people of Guiguinto were ordered to sleep in the town at night and to work in their fields only in the day.
Guiguinto is bounded on the East by the town of Balagtas, on the west by Malolos, on the North by Plaridel, and on the South by Bulacan.

Speaking before thousands of Bulakenyos during her “state of the province address” in Guiguinto town billed as the “Josie-Rely Report.” dela Cruz said that the Bocaue-based (nfte) is one of the projects they initiated with the help of President Arroyo to curb rising unemployment.
(nfte) is one of the major projects of the provincial government along with the Bulacan Housing and Agsro-Industrial project, the East-West Connector Highway from Balagtas town to San Jose del Monte, the Manila-Clark Rapid Railways System, and the Circumferential Road 6 (C-6) toll-way project.

Senior Superintendent Felizardo Serapio Jr., Bulacan police director, also said the laboratory was put up to replace the shabu facilities that had been closed down by government.
He added that the Guiguinto facility was an extension of the drug laboratories discovered in Antipolo and Pasig City more than two weeks ago.
The Guiguinto raid yielded over 20 million pesos worth of shabu ingredients and equipment, along with five kilos of the finished product, according to Superintendent Arnold Gunnacao of the Bulacan police.

Around 1,500 protesters picketed the Barangay Tabe entry and exit point of the NLEX and watched as a pay loader, forklift, and a bulldozer removed concrete barricades put up by the Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) last week.
Guiguinto Mayor Ambrocio Cruz said the town is against the closure of the toll plaza, as it serves as a gateway to the town and generates revenues and employment for the people.
Cruz estimates that the town will lose around P7 million a day if the toll plaza is permanently closed to motorists.

GUIGUINTO, Bulacan — Swedish environmentalists have joined the municipal government in reviving the Guiguinto River, one of the five waterways in the province declared "biologically dead" by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in the late 90s.
Early this year, Swedish environmental experts and the Sweden Association of Local Authorities for International Development (Salaida) conducted an ocular inspection of the five-kilometer stretch of the Guiguinto River from Barangay Poblacion to Barangay Daungan.
At present, dredging of the river’s five-kilometer stretch is underway, while the municipal government has initiated massive data collection, including water testing, to determine if the water still has metallic content.
