As Guildford pressed forward in the final stanza, Hull hit on the counter attack, and the Stingrays went 4-0 ahead on 49 minutes with Noel Burkitt shooting in from Stephen Johnson's pass.
Guildford had a great opportunity to get into the game as Hull were penalised twice inside three seconds for an extended spell of 5-on-3 play.
Shortly after the Stingrays returned to full strength, Guildford lost Domenic Parlatore for the remainder of the game as he was assessed a ten-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, while Stan Marple and Brent Pope had a toe-to-toe which earned them double minors.
