		Guitar Vader's strength had always been in their catchy songs and recent albums had started to downplay the band's weirdness in favour of more mature songwriting.
		But when six of the songs are as strong as anything Guitar Vader have ever written, it makes a great introduction for new fans, and an essential purchase for existing ones.

		Sporting an electronic-infused indie rock sound with a healthy dose of J-pop, Japan's Guitar Vader is back with Happy East, the follow-up to 2003's Dawn on Plugs House.
		The album's title track is a nice synth string accented ballad fronted by Miki, while the delightfully quirky instrumental "Suspense" blends odd programmed analog electronics with guitar and keyboard leads.
		As with many Japanese full-length releases, it's more than a little on the short side (clocking in at under half an hour), but Guitar Vader fans and those that like their hook-laden, infectious indie rock or J-pop with a small side order of inventive quirkiness should certainly check it out.

		Guitar Vader sounds pretty much as their name suggests, Mayu Kitaki will evoke memories of the Love Boat sound track and The Brilliant Green will just flat out rock your socks off.
		Every track has something to recommend it, and by the time you've assimilated these sounds, you'll be searching for more of some of it, maybe a lot of it.

		I went to a fan site (I know, not always reliable) and it said they had broken up and then their record label had a message saying no more Guitar Vader material would be released.
		Classic guitar vader with a bit of an 80s pop to it.
		I guess AGE and Suspense are disposable, but the rest is great stuff, and Guitar Vader has matured some with this release.
